A 6th grade Jets football player was asked on a school paper, “What is an accomplishment of which you are most proud?”
To which he responded, “My first tackle in football.”
There is something about football. It is an experience like no other. Somewhere in the space of proudly pulling on a Jets jersey to making that very first tackle, our boys inch closer to manhood. The Jets mission is to be part of that experience.
“You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in life.” Paul Dietzel/LSU
Jets cheerleaders aren’t just pretty faces.
Our cheerleaders have a voice.
Support the team.
Bring the fans to their feet.
But when they perform, they do it for themselves.
A unique combination of grace and grit, cheerleaders even learn how to fly.
The Jets mission is to be part of that experience.
“If you really want to fly, just harness your power to your passion.” Oprah
ABOUT THE JETS….
The Jets draw from the towns of Suffield, Windsor Locks and East Granby but are a family nonetheless. Run strictly by volunteers who love the game, we are united in our desire to spread enthusiasm for football and cheerleading in all of the communities we serve. Our goals are simple – to teach; to instill core values of hard work, discipline, respect, teamwork; to grow confidence and character; and ultimately, to develop strong, self-assured, young athletes who are passionate about their sport. These goals are executed with safety being both the number one priority and the guiding principle.
We welcome ALL interested children ages 6 to 14 with the courage to make that first tackle or fly high in the air, regardless of experience or ability.
