First Day of Practice Requirements

Bearcats season kicks off on August 1st. Practice will be held at Ahrens Park , 53 Hungary Rd. in Granby CT until September 19th at which time practice location will switch to Suffield High School. Cheer location may be different.

The following will be the practice schedule:

FootballAugust 1st through Sept. 5th  Monday - Thursday 6-8pm, starting September 6th all practices will be 5:30-7:30 Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays

Flag Football : Thursdays 6-7pm

Cheer: August 1st to Sept. 5th Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30 to 7:30starting September 6th Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 5:30 to 7:30

In order to be eligible to practice, players must complete the following:

1.  Register on-line at www.suffieldjets.com
2.  Make payment in full
3.  First year players only - submit birth certificate

4. All must complete Physician Health Statement 

First day of practice, parents and players sign in at registration table where receipt of above confirmed.  Players will not be allowed to practice without 3 items outlined above.

Physician Health Statement (click here for copy) due to Co-president Liz D'Onofrio or Co-President Jen Pelletier no later than August 15th.  Contact either one ASAP if there are problems with the deadline.

 Q. What does each football player need to bring the first day of practice?
Football players should bring only sneakers/cleats, shorts, t-shirt and plenty of water for the first week as they acclimate to the heat and conditioning.

Q. What does each cheerleader need to bring the first day of practice?
Cheerleaders should wear tie sneakers, cotton shorts and t-shirts or tank tops. Please no skirts, skorts or spaghetti strap shirts. Hair should be up in a ponytail and out of faces. No jewelry of any kind, including earrings and piercings. Bring plenty of water!

Registrations accepted on a first come, first served basis for up to 40 football players and 30 cheerleaders per squad.  

Please see below for the break down of registration fees:
  • Registration fee "all-inclusive" with game day snacks, football practice jersey and cheer t-shirt OR draw string bag TBA
  • Reduced overall registration costs for families choosing to fulfill volunteer hours (see chart below)
